Laser Graffiti Removal
across Switzerland.

We remove spray paint from stone, concrete, brick and metal with a pulsed fiber laser. The paint vaporizes layer by layer, the substrate stays intact, no shadow, no fading patch, no opened pores. Mobile service, on heritage facades, public infrastructure, transformer cabinets, garage doors and private property.

Before and after: graffiti removed with laser in real conditions

Drag the slider across. On the left, a sandstone wall tagged with multi-colour spray paint. On the right, the same wall after laser treatment. No shadow patch, no scoured stone surface, no halo where solvent would have crept into the pores.

Principle

How laser graffiti removal
actually works

The short version: spray paint is mostly organic pigment and resin. A pulsed laser hits it, the pigment absorbs the light and vaporizes, the mineral substrate underneath reflects most of the same wavelength and stays cool.

Laser graffiti removal is a contact-free, dry process. The spray paint, mostly an acrylic or alkyd binder loaded with pigment, absorbs the laser light at its working wavelength and is transformed into vapour and very fine particles within microseconds. The wall behind it reflects the same wavelength to a large extent and barely changes temperature. The cleaning is selective because the contrast between paint and substrate is in their absorption, not in their hardness.

Compared to traditional graffiti removal methods, the difference is visible to the naked eye. Chemical strippers tend to push pigment into the porous structure of stone, leaving a coloured shadow that follows the original outline. High-pressure water with abrasive media smooths and opens the stone surface, leaving a clean but visibly worn patch that contrasts with the surrounding facade. Laser cleaning avoids both effects. The wall is not eroded and the pigment is not driven deeper into the substrate, it leaves as gas.

Cleanliness is the other key advantage. A built-in extraction unit with HEPA filter captures the vapour and dust at the point of impact. There is no coloured water running into a drain, no plastic sheeting needed on the pavement, no neutralization step at the end. For sensitive locations, like heritage walls, residential courtyards, schools or train stations, this matters as much as the visual end result. Once we leave, the only trace of the intervention is the absence of the graffiti.

Why laser

Why building owners choose laser over solvent or pressure

Six points that consistently come up when we explain the service to property managers, heritage architects and municipalities. They map directly to real complaints they have heard from other contractors.
01

No coloured shadow

Laser does not push pigment into the pores. Stone, brick and concrete keep their original colour without a visible halo around where the tag used to be.

02

Surface texture preserved

No mechanical abrasion. The grain of sandstone, the smooth face of polished concrete or the rough cast of decorative panels is kept exactly as it was.

03

No water runoff

No coloured water flowing into drains, no plastic sheeting needed on the pavement, no risk of solvent contaminating planters or soil along the wall.

04

Heritage friendly

Compatible with most conservation requirements. We work with conservators on monuments, religious buildings, listed facades and protected fountains.

05

Selective

We remove only the spray paint. Existing inscriptions, plaques, joinery details or original protective layers can be left untouched, without masking tape.

06

Mobile and quick to set up

Equipment comes in a van. From arrival to first cleaned m² is usually under one hour, including safety zoning around the work area.

Surfaces

Substrates that handle
laser graffiti removal well

The materials we work on regularly. For unusual substrates or particularly fragile surfaces, we run a free test cleaning on a discreet area before committing to the main job.
MaterialEignungHinweis
SandstoneSehr gutClassic facade stone in many Swiss cities. Highly porous, very sensitive to chemical strippers, ideal for laser. Spray paint goes, original honey tone returns.
Limestone and marbleSehr gutHeritage and decorative use. Laser parameters set softer than for sandstone to preserve the polished surface where present.
Brick and clinkerGutPorous, multi-coloured surfaces. Pigment is removed without diffusing it deeper into the brick body. Joints are cleaned in the same pass.
ConcreteGutSmooth precast, exposed aggregate, rough cast. All compatible. No bright patch left where the laser worked.
Painted metalBedingtSteel and aluminum doors, transformer cabinets, signage. Spray paint layer removed, original paint of the substrate left intact with adjusted pulse energy.
Glass and ceramicSehr gutTags on transparent panels, mosaic tiles, decorative tiles. Removed without scratching the glaze or chipping the edges.
Stone monuments and statuesSehr gutThree-dimensional pieces with grooves and shadows. Laser reaches into the details that brushes and pads cannot access cleanly.
Process

How a graffiti removal job runs

Five steps from your first photo to a clean facade. Transparent quote, fixed price, photo documentation included on request.
01

Photos and address

You send photos of the tags, the surrounding context and the address. WhatsApp works well because the orientation of the wall and the lighting matter for the assessment.

02

Assessment

We identify substrate, paint type and access conditions. For heritage walls or unusual substrates we propose a free test patch on a discreet area before committing.

03

Written quote

Fixed-price quote within 24 hours, with breakdown of cleaning area, travel and any access equipment needed. No hourly drift, no surprise positions.

04

On-site cleaning

We arrive with the mobile unit, mark the safety zone, set up the extraction and start with a quick test patch. Then we work the full area methodically, photo before and after each section if requested.

05

Handover

Visual check together, work area cleaned, dust filter emptied. Invoice issued as quoted, photo documentation provided on request for property managers, insurers or heritage authorities.

Mobile service

Mobile graffiti removal across Switzerland

Unsere Anlagen passen auf einen Transportanhänger. Wir kommen zu Ihnen, nicht Ihre Maschinen zu uns.

The mobile setup is what makes graffiti removal practical. A facade does not come to us, a tunnel portal does not come to us, a monument does not come to us. We arrive with the laser, the controller, the extraction and the cabling in a van, plug into a 230 V or 400 V outlet, and bring a generator for sites without power.

We cover the entire country, with regular jobs in Zurich, Bern, Basel, Geneva, Lausanne, Lugano, Sion and the surrounding cantons. For urgent cases, like fresh tags on a heritage building or a transformer cabinet that needs to look presentable for an event, we organize short-notice interventions. More on the mobile service is available through the Laser Cleaning Applications overview.

Common questions

Questions on
laser graffiti removal

Die häufigsten Fragen, die im Erstgespräch fallen. Weitere Fragen jederzeit per WhatsApp.
No. Unlike chemical strippers, the laser does not push pigment into the substrate. The paint is vaporized and extracted, the original stone colour returns. On porous sandstone this is one of the most visible advantages of the method.
